Does you Pdoc agree that you need disability ? If so you have a good chance of getting it. Make sure every piece of paperwork from the hospital and pdocs office and your regular medical records are submitted when you apply.

I hope you get a quick decision as this process "can" take a long time.

Good luck with your case

That's great you have an attorney, that's the only way to go!

I too am filing for disability and have hired an attorney. I think the chances are better that way. My psychiatrist told me about a year and a half ago that he would never sign off on disability papers for me because he believed me to be capable of working full-time, but he's changed his tune since I have had so much difficulty staying well and working. Neither of us really WANTS me to file for SSDI, but I can't work as a nurse anymore and I have physical problems that make it hard for me to do things that involve lifting, standing and walking, bending and so on.

Best of luck to you, OP. I think volunteer work would be awesome, as it will give you some structure and prevent you from isolating.

I'm sure you'll get approved especially since you have an attorney

I was initially turned down, and hired an attorney. She managed to get me quickly approved for disability before any appeal took place.

I went through all the usual unending steps to get on disability. Worked long and hard, was denied. But when I got an attorney the second time the process went very smooth and I was granted disability right away. Good luck to you.

I filed for disability at 22 and had under a year of medical records. I was sent to a social security exam due to my lack of records. The psychologist gave me a few test, I answered her questions and it ended with her saying "you're very intelligent".

I was approved on the initial.

Not the first psychologist to call me intelligent, I often wonder what she meant.
