oh gosh...ive read a few, but i cant remember the names...the one by kay redfield comes highly recommended by i wanted to throw it against the wall because i wasn't ready to accept my dx...and then i think there was one called welcome to the jungle that was good. welcome to psych central. you will find we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome

Welcome to Psych Central, Francinee516.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Bipolar and books about that, but hopefully other will know.

If you need a hand with PC, please don't hesitate to ask a Community Liaison, so we can assist.

Sea yew a wound.

Welcome, Francinee516!
Personally, my favorite is Bipolar Disorder for Dummies. It has cartoons. That's not why I like it best, but it doesn't hurt(!) I've read or at least pawed through many of the books out there, and just find this one to be straightforward and easy to understand (well, as easy to understand as BP can be anyway). It's the only one I bother to own.

There is actually a pinned thread at the top of the Bipolar forum especially about books. You may want to read through it and see what people have had to say on the subject.

I like the Bipolar Disorder for Dummies too. I think Kaliope might be talking about "An Unquiet Mind" by Kay Jamison. I like it a lot.

But I mean you can find A LOT of info online as well. Have you checked out the DBSA webpage online? They have a lot of info and resources. Here:

Hope this helps!!

If you like to read a "real" book as opposed to a "self-help" book, then a memoir by Kay Jamison is the way to go.
