I am on 60 mg of Fluoxetine and 300 mg Lamotragine. I want to get off of Fluoxetine. I think it is in part responsible for my tremor, and I do not want to take all my meds every day. Now I hear that Lamictal has antidepressant properties at higher dosages. How is this working for those on Lamictal monotherapy?

My daughter has Bipolar she is 23 and take only Lamictal 75mg and it works wonders for her. I have taught her how to ride out the waves and alot of self care ( the T she had was an idiot) so she turns to me for help.

I plan to soon be on only Lamictal. Im tired of all the chemicals and side effects of all kinds.. Im self aware enough that I can see "something coming" and this year I plan to be med free ... Even my Pdoc says you dont have to be on high doses of Lamictal for it to be effective. Regardless of what a "chart in a book says" Everyones body is unique .

I hope it works for you

It works great for some people. It works for me. Lamictal is particularly effective for rapid-cyclers and mixed episodes.

I stopped my saphris and wellbutrin, and just kept lamictal about 6 weeks ago, and so far I feel good. My pdoc thinks it's not enough for me, but so far I feel better. I needed the other drugs when I was at my worst, with a terrible mixed state and then a severe depression. So I think if things get bad again I will have to add more drugs. But right now lamictal on it's own seems to be all I need.

Good luck on easing the tremor. It is so annoying. Try doing yoga with a tremor. Sucks.
