My new pdoc took me off Geodon. I remember when I first got on it I stopped biting my nails. Well, even my youngest son has noticed my constant nail biting and picking. It's so bad they hurt to pull apart things.
Any suggestions what to do? |

I've heard of disgusting tasting polishes to prevent you from biting but can't advise from personal experience if it works. I'm a hair puller / twister and don't usually even notice it until someone tells me to stop. Very broken hair. I usually do it under stress. I try keep my hands busy with something else if Im cognicent of it, like knitting.

A friend of mine was a chronic nail biter. She started going to a salon to get them "pampered" and goes for regular manicures now that her nails have grown back. I would never have guessed because she has such beautiful nails.

I use to bite mine something awful ( teen age years) My friend told me to polish what I had left a bright color .. It took a few go arounds but I stopped biting because I didnt like chewing the polish and hated messing them up.
To help them grow out faster take a bit of olive oil and massage into the cuticle daily and all around the nail area until the whole area feels warm.. I always do this while watching Tv. Its also relaxing. The only Bipolar retail therapy I have is nail polish .. I buy a few a month 1-3 bucks (Im cheap lol ).. I have over 200 bottles. ![]() My T can usually tell how I am doing by the colors I am wearing ![]()
