So last night, my ex had my daughter and I decided to flip in a movie on Netflix. For whatever reason- Silver Lining Playbook caught my interest.

Wow! That movie was such a huge trigger for me.

I really related to Bradley Cooper's character- just the sense of desperation that he had in not being able to acknowledge that something was wrong & the not sleeping. It definitely made me grateful that I stick with my meds but I had to turn off the movie at the halfway point. It just reminded me too much of my behavior before I went into the hospital.

I thought that the movie did a good job in showing the parents side of things. It definitely illustrated the psychotic symptoms of BP, but I'm not sure if it would really give someone whose non BP a realistic idea of what a hell the illness is.

Sometimes- it seemed like they glammed up the illness. Like that Bradley Cooper had this experience of freedom from the expectations of others.

Anyone else seen it? Not sure if I'd recommend it but would be interested in hearing other people's reactions.

To this day- I find it very difficult at times to watch movies in general. The stories and emotion behind it just seem to overactive my mind.

I think it was a good movie, Of course it was actually showing Bipolar issues and bpd , ocd and depression ... So it covered numerous mi conditions, which I feel was a good way for the movie to be made... I feel it would have been a terrible flop if they had just focused on the bipolar part.

I enjoy it, But certainly if it's a trigger for you just walk away and don't watch it again.

I very seldom watch movies because I can't focus long enough or sit still that long. I used pause a few times and made it through this movie though just for my own education. I enjoyed it. My only question was that it never covered him being employed that I remember.

Great movie. I saw it in theaters long before my diagnosis. Ive only known im bp for 6 weeks now.

I may rewatch the movie now thst i have a different perspective.

Last time i got very emotional during a movie was Boyhood. I saw it with my mom and sister and cried afterwards (im a guy and rarely ever cry).

Thst was before my diagnosis, i had thought about bp before though because i had noticed extreme moodiness in myself.
