I'm curious to know what symptoms you all had as children and currently what medication for Bipolar 2 has worked best for you?

I began to exhibit some hypomanic symptoms in my early teens. (High energy, sense of urgency.) My first depression hit when I was 15. As for medications, the ones listed in my signature are the combination which has worked for me so far. I was very lucky that it didn't take a lot of trial-and-error to get the right combo.

It is hard to separate out the symptoms between the PTSD in childhood but I'd say the big one that is common to both is trouble sleeping.

Meds I'm on are lamictal, latuda, propanol and ambien. I'm on low doses of all except ambien.

Started with intense depression at 10, went to rapid cycling after being put on ADs, then to mild depression on lithium...lots of med changes throughout adolescence, impossible for me to tell which symproms were BP anD which were sidentified effects from meds at this point. Currently I treat my BP with sleep, diet, exercise, Lamotrigine, some herbs, supplements, and amino acids.

I was Dx'd with BP II just in the last 2 years. ADHD and Depression in 2007.

My current "cocktail" consists of : Cymbalta, Adderall, Respirdone, Lamictal and Restoril .

I was always high strung , but they never tested for this stuff when I was a kid. I'm 42 now.
