Heya all,

Tomorrow I get my meds adjusted and apparently Abilify is bringing me too far up! Along with bringing me up too much (mania), it makes me shaky and twitch at times, and oddly drowsy at weird times during the day and off and on. It might be crazy to say but other than that I like the clear feeling it gives me, and I hope that if I do have to get off of Abilify that there's another med that will help with the moods and the psychotic episodes. So, I've been on Lithium for a short time and quickly got off because of the extreme dry mouth, does anyone else suffer from this too? And if so, what do you do about it?? Thank you all so much!

Lithium makes me very thirsty. I just tend to keep something around to sip on.

I'd be concerned about twitching, that side effect scares me. I have never tried lithium, but I had dry mouth from one of the meds, can't remember any more, but pdoc said it's not that big deal and not worth coming of that med. Had a water bottle by my side for few weeks and that symptom released

Biotene tooth paste and mouthwash is a fantastic way to help with dry mouth.

As far as what other meds may help you, who knows really, I have no idea what you have tried in the past beyond lithium and abilify ..

Maybe make a list of meds you have tried in the past if you infact have one.

Psych meds are like clothing no size fits all , everyone reacts differently.

I hope you and your pdoc are able to find a treatment plan that is the best for you.

lithium is horrible stuff ..........if u can avoid taken this stuff do so

most all the drugs they offer has some side effect and half of them are off treatments for what ever it is they are treating u (it was made for another reason but it has this effect that can be used for this reason )

that make something in the last few years called CBD oil .............this has no THC at all it is the oils from the plant hemp and some cannabis (genetically modified not to make THC) ..............the main effect of the stuff is a mood stabilizer along with general feeling of well being (works good on other things too).....but it 100% natural and 100% legal

PROJECT CBD | What is CBD?

this stuff works for me greatly so much better then the pills they were given me (no side effects no zombie pill me )

Lithium made me extra thirsty/dry mouth every time I increased the dose. It's still somewhat dry, but not as bad. I drink a lot of water and that helps.
