I was diagnosed with BPD and ADHD here about a year ago. I have been on Lithium and Divalproex (as an antidepressant and anticonvulsant). It has been a wonderful year for the most part. The two big issues I have though are when I have mood swings, I get very very angry still, and I really hate it. Usually there is anxiety as my trigger.

To add to that, I also have ADHD which is untreated because we are trying to get the BPD under control and we can not put me on meds for ADHD as it makes me a very mean person.

These issues in combination of feeling that what I have to say does not matter really is getting to me. I have gone through a lot of stress with my fiance having a miscarriage and I am trying to be supportive but have family interfering constantly. I am 39 & my fiance is 41, so I am a little hacked...

Anyhow, I just needed to dump so I can sleep.

Im sorry to hear that you're going through such a rough time at the moment.

You can vent here anytime, we're here to listen and offer support.

My mania left untreated usually implodes into full blown rage, I wish it was the happy haha kind but that's not the case.

Be well and know that you have been heard.

Medications can help a bit with BPD , but the DBT is usually a huge/better help in managing symptoms and gaining better control.

Do you have good coping skills to put in place when your having a struggle or just notice that things are getting dicey ?

Im sorry about your loss , I hope the family backs off and gives you some breathing room.

Anger is a big issue for a lot of us, I think. I also hate being a slave to my irritability and rages. Coming here and being able to vent to people who really understand, don't judge and are supportive is a massive help in itself. I hope you feel calmer soon.
