In the last 4 days I've had four experiences of seeing things. I see them only for seconds, but it takes me a second to realize they aren't really there. I have never hallucinated before. The things I have seen were a horse about to step in the road, a big bug crawling up my sink, someone in the backseat of my car while I was driving, and a set of my grandmother's costume beeds sitting on the counter. I am struggling my way out of a severe depressive episode. My meds have been tweaked a couple of times in the last 3 weeks. Could it be that, or should I be concerned that this is happening?

I know if it continues I'm going to have to stop driving. With both the horse and the person I started to swerve until I realized it wasn't real.

Thx for any advice.

It is a concern that you are having hallucinations, especially the way they are affecting your driving. Are you able to call your pdoc? I think this needs urgent attention just in case it gets worse and you go into full psychosis. Take care

from your signature it looks like you are bipolar and on Zoloft. that was a killer combo for me at about week 3. I started hallucinating as well. threw me into the worse mania of my life. I was hearing things seeing things,. it was horrible. lasted over two months. I was so mad at pdoc putting me on an antidepressant when I was bipolar. she shuld have known better.

Yeah, you really need to see your pdoc. As for the driving, I think you already know the answer.

This really can't be easy for you.

I remember being in a bus once and seeing the white long fluffy dog type thing from The Never Ending Story fly past. Hmmmm. I was clearly not well.

My only hallucinations are little fast shadowy things out of the corner of my eye and it doesn't happen very often.

Thanks, y'all. I've been on Zoloft and Lamictal for awhile, although in retrospect the first time I was ever put on an SSRI I went into hypo-mania or possibly mania because it got me in a lot of trouble. I was DXd as Bipolar a couple of years later. The difference in my meds is that one pDoc put me on Wellbutrin and a week later another took me off for fear of a manic episode. The Buspar is new and I've been on it for about 3 weeks, but that is for anxiety. I will call pDoc today and see if I can get him to respond. I do have to say I'm very glad I have not seen the big flying dog from Never Ending story!!

Talked to the pDoc nurse. Went through the meds and don't think that's it. He said to call back if they don't go away or if they get any worse. He also said the pDoc had me noted as BP I in a mixed state (saw him last week). In the hospital the pDoc said BP II with severe depression. Who knows wth is going on. I sure don't. The good thing is that I have not seen anything today.
