I have been experiencing a real unpleasant thing here. It is happening mostly when I close my eyes and has the sensation of vertigo and jerking to follow.


The best way to describe this it's as if I have trigger inside my brain that is making me randomly jerk my right arm, making me frightened to try and go to sleep because there is so much going on inside my head.


This has been going on for a couple days now and is really starting to worry me.


History:


Juvinile Photochromic seizures


Current meds:


Lithium Carbonate 600mg

Divalproex 1000mg


I would not have mentioned seizures but given how I feel I thought I should mention it.

When do you see your pdoc again?

This may, or may not be a side effect of meds and we can't speculate if it's a mild, harmless reaction or not.

Well, that is a problem right now, don't have insurance (out on disability for spine problems). Waiting for other insurance to kick in. Either way, not a good situation..

apply for medicaid ...........the date u apply for it u become covered

and she could be right about the meds .........or it could be a nerviness twitch from the stress

I have applied for Medicaid, but am having to jump through hoops. Will see if this continues and will take it from there.

they should send u a letter in about 30 days from time applied that letter will say u are covered what your number is and the time of the retro active dating on coverage

the lady in the hospital helped me apply for it when i went in with nothing (that cost me 1100 bucks ) but it was completely covered when i came in with that letter outstanding bill is nothing paid nothing except for the meds

call that number it is free of charge it is for your area under the law they have to provide low cost help to u if u ask .........that will be step one or two or three since they can make referrals....u could be in to see a doctor maybe tomarrow if not then will be monday ..........they will tell u if this is a issue u feel unsafe with to go to your local ER and have them check u out

this is what i would tell u to do i was on both those meds i know they have side effects they differ from person to person .........prolonged use can make it permit if something like this shows up .......so u will need to be changed off with a doctor telling u the mix

your not wanting to hurt yourself or others so u will go in see the nurce tell them what is going on need to see a pdoc maybe a regular doc too .......they will take u in get in in hospital clothes have u sit for a while to watch u do some blood work the doctor comes in u talk .........he/she will make the call if meds or stress triggering it alter u or add on .........just tell them the truth about u not having insurance to pay for the super sexy pills so the generics are what is told to be given u .....they ask if u want to talk to crisis manager (that is the one that helped with insurance i think ) and u are out of there in 4 to 8 hours

It could be the lithium. I take it, too, and sometimes get the jerking when I go to bed or am resting, but it's not to the degree you describe. I would suggest you get your lithium levels checked, but since you're not on insurance, you would have to pay out of pocket for that. Can I ask how you got prescribed meds without insurance? It seems irresponsible for someone to do that without providing you follow up, especially if you have a history of seizure disorder.

I take lithium and I get that sometimes. Don't freak out. It's ok. Call your pdoc but mine said it won't hurt me.

I have been in it for years now, levels have been checked pretty regularly, but ended up leaving my job thus losing my insurance.


Was supposed to have insurance HCA but that is botched, so, now I have to wait a week. I am praying that it is not a seizure issue or because of the issues with my neck and it is just something minor with meds being meds.


I have been in excruciating pain in my neck and back since October 12th, have been on Percocet, and they don't know what's up with my back, so I am sure it is a contributor.

While you wait for insurance to kick in, could you talk to the pharmacist about possible drug interactions? That would at least put your mind at ease, if not your body.

Well, insurance is supposedly active but because of my doc that I had, it is causing problems with insurance going through so i am waiting for HCA to fix it. How irritating! It amazes me that the system that is supposed to help is actually making things worse. I have 4 agencies I am dealing with, plus my previous employer, and a lack of income that is just adding to the stress of it all.

I'm sorry. There are some good people at HCA (I live in WA, too). I wish you'd gotten one that would push this through for you. Does your provider need a contract with them, is that the hang up? Whatever it is, I hope they sort it out soon. 4 state agencies? Ugh.

Definitely could be a med side effect. I've had that happen to me before.
