I have some questions about mood trackers. I have downloaded the the eMoods app. It has a strong point in that it helps me keep track of how many hours I slept during the night. But it does not help me keep track of my mood swings as they occur throughout the day. Emoods tracks moodswings with just one option for the entire day. ( if I am not using it wrong... something that is entirely possible, ha ha ha!). I like to have an app, because it is super-handy, always right at hand on my cellphone. But if I can find one that is better, it doesnt have to be an app. Just as long as it gets the job done. Anyone have any tips on this?

That is possible also I guess. But I have this tendency to ramble on in my journaling (just like in my mind...), and I would like to have something where I just put in the info.

I'm trying "MoodTrack" out. It's more simplified than I prefer, but it lets you track multiple moods throughout the day. I am have been using "Mood Log" for over a year. I use it daily. But it only allows for one mood for the whole day. Not helpful for us rapid cyclers.

Ok. I will look into the "MoodTrack" one. When I start to get into my manic/hypomanic periods,, then rapid cycler defenately describes me. And that usually happens in the winter. I am trying to be as prepared as possible for that, and finding a good tool to keep track of it is on my list.
If "Mood Log" only allows for one mood pr day, then that is not going to be that useful to me. Thanks for your answer!

Ok. Will check it out. It is great to have someone recommend something to me, feels like it is a bit more trustworthy than the advertising...

I also use Moodtrack, just started today. Mainly to pinpoint anxiety triggers. You can type in your mood ie depressed, manic, anxious, angry, inspired etc and so on, rate your mood whether its very bad or very good and levels in between and leave a comment if you'd like. It can be used several times a day. I may check out Imoodjournal though and see which one I like better.

Does anyone know which mood tracker is better? Moodtrack or Imoodjournal? I'm just wondering before I decide to purchase imoodjournal, does it have a comment section beside just hashtags where you can write a sentence or a few words?

I made my own mood log so I could keep track of mood changes for morning, afternoon and night. I used a spreadsheet. I also was able to put on everything pertaining to my set of symptoms. I couldn't find one that worked for me. My doctor and therapist check my mood log every visit too. Good old paper and pen.
Thanks for this!

I'm a pen and paper person too.

One that hasn't been mentioned is Wellness Tracker from The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance:
DBSA Wellness Tracker - Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance

I can't comment on it though, because I have a DumbPhone. (I don't have any kind of device that can use iOS apps).

I like Optimism online. You can customize it 100% and there's an app, too.

But for mood shift I've learned it's easier to choose the strongest mood of the day, then you can set one of the symptoms to be "mood change" and just count how many times you shifted. It gets overwhelming sometimes trying to track every shift every day

I just checked Optimism online. It looks like it might work for me. Thanks for the tip!
