Should I keep taking my Depakote? I seriously need to get manic, quit eating, and move on with my life. But, will I flip out if I do?

Why couldn't I have just been fired but allowed unemployment by the buttcrack rich employer so I could have been at ease and found another job instead of finding out I'm bipolar and been in this mess I'm in, with no definitive path towards a brighter future.

I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through. Getting into a manic state is not going to help you long-term. I quit eating when I had my last manic episode and nearly died. I firmly believe that not eating led to my hallucinations.
Please find someone to talk to- even if its a church or a local community group in your area.

I'm honestly mad at your Pdoc for not trying other medications. I know lamictal is out of your range ($50) Lithium, Tegretol, nurotin, are available under $10 so maybe those are viable mood stabilizers. Not giving you an antidepressant I feel is negligent there are selvral options that are under $10. Research and advocate for yourself. They have your mania controlled and it was okay for acute mania but this isn't acute. They need to address the depression and that usually requires a second medication. They may want you on an anti psychotic first but rasparidone and the typical APs are usually on the discount list. You also can just ask for the generic discount list at your pharmicy and go over it with Pdoc. Rite aid , walgreen , walmart , CVS , kmart , target , and other places.

I have never thought of this, but surely it makes sense. That sleep deprivation can make a mentally well person hallucinate is well documented. Why not from not eating?
