I was on 5 mg but I'm being moved to 10 mg this week. My pdoc thinks it will help get rid of the rest of my paranoid delusions.

But I really don't want to go any higher than 10 mg.
All of these psych meds have interesting side effects and that scares me.

Thanks everyone. I am just concerned that it is too much. I am also on 400mg Lamictal and 40mg Viibryd. The Abilify is supposed to help with my paranoia.

I couldn't afford it even with a co-pay that stuff is expensive, so my pdoc gave me a month's supply of 2mg. I took it and honestly it did help a little bit, but not worth any where near it's cost. Next year it goes generic and then I will try it again.

btw, did nothing for my paranoia or anxiety but made me feel happier

Charly1, the dose really depends on the person and what they're going through. Also, different people have different tolerance levels. I take Zyprexa for paranoia, but usually need only a small dose. But I've been on much higher doses when I got real manic. I hope it helps. Paranoia is hell. Keep us updated!

I'm on 200mg of Lamotrigine and 5mg of Abilify, So far the Abilify has felt like it's made me manic, not sure yet, I haven't had enough time for the Abilify to know what it actually does for me yet...

If you like the lift Abilify gives, wellbutrin +zoloft is nice too. I do plan on going back to abilify as soon as it goes generic! I did like the abilify better as it did not give me trouble sleeping. A plus is both wellbutrin and zoloft come as generic so it's way cheaper too

I take 10mg, but my meds will probably be adjusted soon so it might go higher.

I was on Abilify a few years ago and had to stop taking it because it wasn't helping, I was gaining way too much weight and there was the ever-present risk of diabetes.

I am on 30 mg. I have been on it for awhile now. I take a lot of other meds as well. I wonder if Ability is the cause of my crying spells, but the Doc doesn't think that is the case. Sorry I don't have better input, but I find the meds are a Russian roulette of what is actually working; especially when you take a number of meds. Good Luck and hang in there!

I was on 5mg. They wanted to up it, but it made me so drowsy, I stopped. I'm on Latuda now and feel much better.

I was only on 10mg once a day but the side effects were horrendous, but i must say, i slept great too. I might give wellbutrin or zoloft a try.

I'm on 5 mg of Abilify and it's supposed to take the edges off my irritability and rage. It does it... a little bit. Just keeps the most extreme down.

Finally up to 15mg and I'm noticing a huge difference. It has really helped with stopping the hallucinations.
Thanks for this!

I wish I had a stronger dose too. As usual I only thought of it after I called to get the refill.

Bad side effects again on 10mg Abilify. Why is it not working for me ? It seems to be a godsend for most other people.
40mg propranolol 3 times daily, had some left over, just to get the anxiety down a bit.

How long have you been on the Abilify? It took slightly longer than 3 months to start working for me.

I am on I believe the lowest dose, 2 or 2.5, along with topamax and Luvox, and it has been a miracle drug for me so far. Brought me out of huge depression and sent me into huge manic phase. I see my doc Thursday so curious as to what he will want to do with the dosage! I've also lost 9 pounds while on it since beginning of November! Good luck!
