So I have been diagnosed with bipolar but my therapist/psychologist says I also have some sort or probably have PTSD. What should I do? should I go to a support group for this or what?

Support groups are great to help or even just listen. There are forums on psych central for both. I keep them both bookmarked so I can jump to which ever seems to be the biggest issue at the moment.

My pdoc sent me to trauma therapy when I was diagnosed with PTSD. It's helped a lot.
I think therapy works better than meds for PTSD, in my opinion. You have to get the pain out and face it. Take care.

I have both diagnosis's as well. For the PTSD long-term therapy with a professionally trained trauma therapist has been extremely helpful and my symptoms are now mostly under control and even hardly noticeable most weeks. I have also had CBT and DBT group therapy which has given me many great tools to manage the PTSD and Bipolar. It is really important that the therapist and/or groups you go to are done by trauma specialists as I have had so many awful experiences with well intentioned therapists who only made my PTSD much worse.
