After a hellish year, I've finally gotten stable and started feeling like myself again! Hooray! So excited! The meds I'm on are seroquel, lamictal, and lithium. At first I hated being on all of this garbage, but it has actually really worked. My pdoc says with my lithium in the range it is, I don't have to worry about my mania ever getting out of control again. That sounds like a miracle and you know, too good to be true. What are y'all's experiences?

Hi ff,

It's very nice to find the right meds and start healing! Glad you got it dialed in! Many have a hard time finding the sweet spot on meds. Keep us posted!

I'm allergic to lithium, but I'm on Seroquel and Lamictal as well and I seem to be doing pretty good. I tend to have problems in January and February, but I'm trying to be positive. I'm so glad that you are feeling good and stable, enjoy it.

So happy for you that you have found some precious stability. Lithium helped stabilize me by reducing my impulsivenes and suicidal thoughts and behavior but I still have the rapid cycling and depression so Lamictal was added and that seems to have helped slow the cycling and ease the depression. Seroquel didn't work for me but Zyprexa helps when I am mixed, like now. I am still frustrated as even with all these great meds on board I still cycle and find myself in horrible mixed states. Right now I am in one and it is awful. PRN's are getting me through though but I am beginning to feel no meds will bring me true stability.

I'm so glad you have found a good med combination. I don't think I could make it without medications. I know that some people are able to do that but I'm not one of the. I have finally come to the conclusion that I will always be on meds and am glad that I have them to help me feel better.

Like you I spent the last year with no real periods of stable mood in hospital 7 times. Many med changes currently on 900 MG of seroquel 50 MG of Lamictal and 300 MG of welbutrin. Also take Lunesta for sleep vitamins and synthroid I am at the best level I've been in with mild changes in moods I am hopeful for a better year.

Its crazy how different everyone's experiences are on meds/off meds, stable/not stable. I feel like its a lie when someone says "OK now on this, you have nothing to worry about" I'm so thankful for the stability I have now, but I feel like I'm tip toeing through my life, trying not to wake the sleeping monster up. I'm sure y'all feel me on that!
