I've heard good things about this AP, so the pdoc gave me a few samples to try. I'm still on the AP search. The Latuda was a fiasco. Got my fingers crossed.

I had some really psychotic experiences on it....if I wasn't trying to do something cuz I really wanted to, but couldn't really get there...hard explain...tried to go metal detecting, but couldn't focus on the beeps close enough to even find anything.

I also slept A LOT, and when talking would use words loosely associated with the word I would normally say. Like I tried to fanatic, like coffee fanatic and I dont' remember the word I used, but it was a very loosely related word -- like my mind was ssearching a thesaraus for more poetic word or something.

The entire experience was kinda like taking psychedelic drugs.

I had minimal side effects. I remember being totally stupid on geodon, at least for a little while. And I remember it had a delayed sedating effect. It was weird, I would take it and then two or three hours later I would be OUT. So I just took it at night with a snack.

The only problem I had was that it would only last until like three or four in the afternoon. Then the mixed episode it was supressing would come out with a vengeance. If I could have taken it in the morning without passing out by noon it would have worked well.

Best of all, no weight gain!

Do you remember you HAVE have to eat at least 350 calories when you taking your nightly dose , if you don't the medication isn't absorbed right. Big ole spoon of peanut butter or a chunk of cheese usually does the trick.

Good luck

Hi yall. I ate a pbj sandwich with it last night. It is now my favorite AP! It was gentle and I slept a full 9 hours! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I think I've found a winner.
Thanks for this!

So glad that it's doing well for you! It was the only AP that worked for me.

Really, I was not told to take it with at least 350 cals? Interesting...might explain why it threw me for such as loop.

I don't know. I could only sleep 4 hours if broken sleep and then wake up in a cold sweat from the vivid dreams with Latuda

I've been on Geodon for two years now. It's been moderately effective and I lost weight on it at first. Like Christina says, you have to take it with fatty foods for best absorption. If you can take it with dinner and not be knocked out by 7 pm, so much the better; otherwise a couple o ounces of cheese or a ham sandwich close to bedtime should do the job.

Fatty foods? I haven't tried taking it earlier. Even the respiredal I waited late to take it. AP generally knocks me out too fast.
