Hello. I just started on Lamictal and am EXTREMELY dizzy. I don't think I should drive. I've also been having very strange thoughts and feelings like I feel like I'm afraid I'm going to hurt someone. I see my psycchologist today, so I will def bring it up, just wondering if others have had the same experience. How did you feel when first started Lamictal? Please tell me I'm not alone! This is my second week on it, I'm currently on 25 mgs. Thanks!

It's a good thing that you are not driving! I have never taken lamictal so I can't tell you about a reaction but I'm sure there are others here who can. I am also sure that you are not alone.

I don't remember having any issues when starting Lamitcal. I have the shakes and queasiness if I don't take it for a few days.

I hope things level out for you quickly.

If I took 300 to 400 mg, I am dizzy and very tipsy. I fell over more than once when I could not walk a straight line. I am back down to 200 mg.

I am taking Lamictal 50 mg. I am dizzy too. The weird thing is that I am not dizzy every day, I take at noon, some days I can manage just fine after taking, some others days last the last five days I am so dizzy and tired that I am not driving my car as a normal precaution.

I don't have thoughts of hurting some one at all.

I think is a very good and important idea that you tell your Psychiatrist about your thoughts, I am sure overwhelmed you as much as scare you.

Lamictal or Lamotrigene stop my racing thoughts, it is worth it for me to keep taking.

I hope my Pdoc can help me soon with the dizziness, feeling faint or lightheaded to feeling weak or unsteady. It is not a way to go through life.

I am waiting because my Pdoc saids that will take about two months for Lamital work as the best for me. I started about a months and a half ago.

Keep us up to date.

When are you taking your dose? I have always done mine at night an hour or two before bed, so that it has time to get in my system during a time the effects aren't a big deal.

I recall a calming feeling in the first few weeks and I did feel a bit loopy with headaches. I wound up at 400mg to reduce my extreme depression and self harm thoughts from a daily occurrence to a couple times a month. The worst and only side affect now is a foggy mind, I have a hard time recalling things quickly.

I am taking 50 mg Lamictal at noon every day. I am taking other medicine for cancer prevention, and seroquel with clonazepan at night, so for me it is better to take lamictal at noon. Otherwise, is just to much meds at night time for my stomach that get up set.

I have like you foggy mind, but not all day long, usually I' am better after being very active, moving around, cleaning, exercise, cooking, going out like when I have to run errands.

Sadly is not every day that I can archive all the above, still I can't blame my dizziness to only Lamictal. Till now it is so worth it to keep taking, stop my racing thoughts and that is a lot for me.
