I am going to increase taking Lamictal from 300 to 400. Starting out increasing by 50mg extra for a week now. Just wondering how long I should take 350 mg, before going on to 400 mg?
Anybody have some experience with this? How about side effects?

Hi Homeira! Hope all is well with you!

I was researching Lamictal here in a blog by an MD
Bipolar Medication Spotlight: Lamictal (Lamotrigine) | Bipolar Beat

It may be up to your doctor to say how long before moving up.

At Psych Central - Trusted mental health, depression, bipolar, ADHD & psychology information.
they also talk about side affects, search for Lamictal side affects

I am currently taking Lamictal, as well. My doc usually has me bump up a dose every week or two.

Good luck.

I think I started off at 25 and bumped my way up to 100 then went by 50s but I don't remember how long at each step. Best of luck.

Same with me, started with 25 mg, after two weeks taking 50 mg per day. I think my Pdoc will increase the dose when I see her again, Lamictal works for me, but I can tell that after 3 weeks of taking 50 mg it is like the anxiety is getting worse again. Let's see what she prescribe next time.

I don't have any rush and my racing thoughts are much better, almost gone after taking Lamictal.

By however your doc tells you!

I saw my doc a lot between 200-400 to find out where to stop.

This is best answered by your Pdoc as every person is diferent. They increased mine every week, but it could be different depending on body size and weight. The only side effect that I had during increases was a tingling in the tip of my tongue. This went away after a few days.
