I can't beelive how much sleep affects my moods. I'm currently in the hospital and I've been sleeping well the last few days but got a horrible sleep last night. I feel absolutely terrible today. I can't handle anything. I feel like an emotional wreck. I'll cry at the drop of a hat. I feel very unstable. I wish I could have slept better to keep up my good mood. Ugh. I hate this illness.

I have always needed a lot of sleep. I remember as a kid being all messed up for a few days after an all-nighter slumber party. I read a book after I had my first kid and she described the sleepless feeling of new babyhood as having a sweater over your brain. my night meds (lithium, lamictal, xanax) help me sleep

If I do not sleep properly, I feel weepy, angry, depressed,, worthless.
Sleep is so important to good mental health.
