I love to shop and yes it had gotten me in trouble financially. Am I really manic or what? I find it fun and entertaining yet I don't need a thing. I get bored so I am working on my resume to get back to work which usually keeps me out of stores...anybody have experience?

Oh I love shopping! But to satisfy that need, I've confined it to the grocery store.

Do you feel high, or euphoric when you shop?? If you do, it very well could be mania.

I did it for years and had stacks upon stacks of receipts I would take in to show my p-doc. He changed my meds and the compulsion to shop went away.

I hope this helps..

Are you aware if your going hypo/manic ? Can other people see something you can or can't? If your just shopping outta boredom then going to work or finding a hobby will take care of that issue I would think.

i definately shop when manic even though I don't need things. I typically buy big things and expensive things. Once I have them I feel let down. I know it is not an addiction because I could leave it most of the time unless manic. I try to put obstacles in my way not to spend to protect myself. I lowered my card limit and arm limit to avoid over spending. I also put money in places I cannot get to easily. Not sure this helps, but it works for me.
