I know that I'm about due for one of my manic spells... I've been charting on another site, and I'm noticing the sleep decreasing and the mood going up... maybe I shoulda stayed on the 200 Seroquel. The checkbook is also beginning to take a hit... I see the p-doc in 13 days.

Maybe you can call your pdoc rather than self medicating? Take care and stay safe.

call your pdoc and yes the 200mg of seroquel sounds about right.
You are doing a good job noticing/using the mood chart...it helps to have it in front of you to look at.
You are doing well for this!

been running around at work making up things to do, but feel like I can't move fast enough. Suffering from CRS (can't remember _____) About ready to snap on someone, anxious as all get out... busting my tail to keep my nose clean... friend holding on to checkbook for me. Talking to everyone.... 90 miles an hour, at that. Been texting and e-mailing at work... can't stay busy enough. Home on a late lunch right now... want to just stay home and clean house to keep me outta trouble... maybe. I'm going to scream if I don't calm down! UGH! Going to scarf down some food, then I owe, I owe, its back to work I go. Will be back at 9 central, if I don't go DD for the girls... maybe dancing my rear off will do me good??

In the book "The Bipolar Workbook" there is a mood symptoms worksheet. It had a very comprehensive list of symptoms to chart--for ex. one that hits me is how noise affects you. When I'm manic I'm very easily distracted & find it hard to follow a conversation or to think when there is background noise.

You jot down what you are like in each category when manic, when depressed & when feeling ok. Then you can refer back to it if you feel an episode coming on, plus you can chart yourself every day.

The categories are:

Attitude toward self
Self-confidence
Usual activities
Social activities
Sleep habits
Appetite/eating habits
Concentration
Speed of thought
Creativity
Interest in having fun
Restlessness
Sense of humor
Energy level
How noise affects you
Outlook on the future
Speech patterns
Decision-making skills/I'd put in here about overspending/reckless behavior of all kinds
Concern for others
Thoughts about death
Ability to function
Other areas? I can think of one--stress

What changes do you notice first when you're getting depressed?

What changes do you notice first when you're getting manic?

What caused the mood shift?
