So I'm behind on payments for my student loans, and I'm due to be sent to collections in 2 days. I need to call them tonight, and I am SUPER anxious about it. Partially because I'm broke, partially because I normally have anxiety making phone calls anyways. I start to dial, and then I don't finish. Help.

Anxiety is no fun. I do not like the idea of phone calls, either. I never answer phones, or dial out. (Could probably save myself a bill by ditching the phone, right?)
I understand where you're coming from, and hope your anxiety let's up enough for you to do what you need to do. Remember 'this too shall pass'..in any situation where you feel anxious. The phone call will be over as soon as you make it.
Best of luck to you!

Ugh. I hate phone calls. I try to avoid talking on the phone as much as possible.
But you know what? After I do it's usually not nearly as bad as I'd imagined.

Good luck! Make the call!

Just tell them your story and ask for help by finding out what you can work out with them. Remind them you are very interested in paying off your debt. You may have to speak with a supervisor or manager to work anything out officially with them.

Thanks. That was enough to get me going. It wasn't as bad as I thought. They gave me a forbearance and brought me current on my account. I feel better now.

I am glad you are feeling a bit better and that the situation was a bit more posititive than anticipated. Hang in there.
