I have realized that I am in a constant state of being stressed. It means for me that my body is not able to relax. My muscles are tense all the time. I have a low tolerance for normal things that might occur in daily life, like the little emergencies that occur in relation to being a mom, interacting with others, and just unexpected things that occur normally. It leads to a lot of anxiety. I have to remind myself to lower my shoulders and pace myself when I do different things. Breathing techniques are also very important in coping with this. But it is something that I often forget to do. I have tried to find reasons for why this is so. I came across a text in one of the blogs here in PsychCentral. I dont know if this is of any help for others, but I am going to share the link anyway. It helps me to be aware of why things are the way they are.
There is a discussion of depression in the link as well, and one of my biggest problems with BP II is the constant depression. I found it very interesting to learn about the connection between the constant stresslevels we often can experience. In other words; chronic release of stress hormones.
