Can someone explain that term to me? Bipolar Recovery? That term for whatever reason irritates me. Alcoholics recover. Drug addicts recover. etc, etc etc. They can stop drinking/doing drugs etc. They are in recovery. WE however can not stop "bipolar-ing".

I was at Barnes and Noble today trying to find some of the books on the "Must Read" list posted on here, and there were a couple of books with that title, and it has been driving me inSANE.

PLEASE! What does that even mean!?!?

Very funny. We can't stop "bipoler-ing." I wished I could answer what recovery is, however, I don't think I still know what stable is yet.

It sounds like these authors are using the word "recovery" interchangeably with "treatment success." The definition of recovery is the process of participating in a group or program providing treatment and support for a longstanding psychological or behavioral problem such as abuse, addiction, grief or trauma... (The Free Dictionary by Farlex) I hope this helps. Best wishes!!!

I can't agree enough. People want to pretend that once we get stable, we'll be there forever. Doesn't work like that, but people prefer to ignore that.

BP recovery! I tried that, no meds, no therapy, convinced my self they were all wrong, i wasn't BP, just very passionate about things. Didn't work too well.
