Hey guys, I'm now on seroquel only at night for sleep (originally to stop suicidal thoughts which has worked). I'm on the lowest dose of 50mg but I feel so drugged it's really effecting my ability to enjoy life again ie: spending time with family and my ability to drive. My appointment with pdoc is in a month but I want to stop the med and even didn't take it tonight and feel like I'm getting back to my old self again.

Should I book an earlier appt or just trust myself and go off?

(((CS))), It would be a good idea to get an earlier appointment. You were put on the Seroquel for a reason, right? Can you call your prescribing doctor and see if you can cut/break your pill in half and see if this reduces the drugged feeling you are having while still taking care of your suicidal ideations???

That is such a low dose that it probably wouldnt cause many issues if you were to drop it physically. But mentally might be another story, can you drop down to 25mg until you see your pdoc or is that not enough for sleep?

Well your pdoc put you on it for both sleep and Su. If it's what is helping you sleep , well then you will probably have insomnia if you stop it and if your sleep is outta wack its most likely going to fool with your BP in a big way. Bipolar is just a messy mass of shyt to sort out.

Are you taking it early enough at night so it has time to do its job and then you can be up and running in the morning?

I would proceed with caution. Try to be seen sooner and just be honest about how much of an effect this medication is having on your ability to enjoy life. There are many options. Don't settle, It takes time to find the best med or meds that will be the best for you. Be your own best advocate.
