Would that be general memory loss or specifically due to meds?

I don't have any memory loss right now as I'm not taking any memory killers, but three years ago? Yip, lithium turned into brain damaged gold fish...

I think it is probably a combination of the lithium and just being bipolar but I have the worst memory possible. Long and short term. It can be really embarrassing and concerning at times. Especially when I'm talking to someone new or something and I can't remember certain words or names... it's just terrible.

I am experiencing memory loss due to the medications that I am on. I am on lithium plus other meds and feel that I can't remember anything anymore. I have reached a point where I feel that the memory loss is effecting my job. But then again I may be paranoid . (Which is another problem)

Does long-term use result in permant damage? Will my memory improve by going of one or more of my meds?

Medications:
Lithium
Lamactical
Welbutrin
Saphris

I've had memory loss before I started on my lithium. My therapist attributed it to my lack of sleep and how down I was (not sure how true that was, in retrospect).

On the lithium I am experiencing other fun side effects but not any (extra) memory loss. I'm on an entirely different cocktail than quite a few people on here though, so it can entirely be the meds doing it to you. I would read carefully through the side effects to see which one causes it, and have a nice conversation with your doc about it.
