I will clench my fists, grit my teeth and will even ball up my toes and it's really affecting my sleep. I haven't gotten more than 1-2 nights of good sleep in a row in who knows how long. I also have strange vivid dreams which doesn't help at all.

My doctor has me taking Trazodone and Gabapentin to try and stay asleep and get past REM sleep into slow wave sleep, but even then it doesn't seem to help very much.

hi remo
are you on an antipsychotic which may be causing the muscle clenching? haldol made me grind my teeth and my fingers now stick straight out from geodon. it is a side effect called tartive dyskenesia. just an idea. welcome to psych central. you will find we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome

Hi remo,

When I do behaviour patterns during my sleep (yours are clenched fist / grinding teeth etc - mine is pulling my hair and scratching my face) -

I am usually anxious about something in real life that I have not resolved yet.

But this is just the case for me, personally.

I wonder if there are things making you anxious in real life?

If these are new symptoms hun you need to talk to your doctor. I'd quit taking anything that was messing with me without doctor consent. There are other meds that can be taken. Good luck
