Hey guys/gals,

Who else suffers from intense boredom as a part of their condition? I find even at work, I need a job that constantly keeps my hands busy, like repetitive manual work.

If I take on a QC role or supervise others I get so unbelievably bored I cant save myself.

Same thing at home, need to have projects on the go or I start to get irritable. I should mention also that I have been episode free for around 4 months now. Could this be the start of an episode I wonder?

Who can relate? Lol hopefully!!

It's all or nothing for me. I have to be fully engulfed or I'm booooooooored. It's horrible because it is so irritating as you've stated. Boy, I'm looking forward to this two weeks of spring break. Lol.

Lol, you sound sooooo convinced that you will not be bored at ALL! Ahahhaa. Well at least we are kind of in good spirits. That doesn't seem to be an issue. Although it has in the past!

I'm on benefits and while i know it is for the best i get extremely bored. Sometimes i take a long bus or train ride on public transit just for something to do. Having a dog helps. Taking her out and walking her eats up time. Sometimes i go to the airport and watch the planes take off. TV and radio are other go-to options. Honestly, tho, i do a lot of boredom-eating. I remember working and getting so involved in a project Friday would come before i knew it. Those days are long gone.

Kind of like that feeling when it's friday but you haven't accomplished what you want to accomplish in that set time?

It's sad that we limit ourselves with our work. Because work can be good for recovery but I guess it has to be the right workplace.

Ahh the right workplace for a Bipolar, does it exist?!

I only get bored when i'm manic because the world refuses to go at my pace and its frustrating. Usually not a problem though.

I was waiting for somebody to say that ^^

And in a way I am glad as I feel also it is to do with mania approaching. Things happen too slowly and not enough can occupy the mind.

I get what you mean, it's not really a major problem, just I have been noticing it.

yeah boredom will make me swing...i have a million ways to combat it but i bore of them all relatively quickly, especially in winter months when i am limited in ways to work through it...

my best advice is try to find a lot of different things that you can cycle through...read til it is boring, do a craft til it is boring, work out til it is boring then read til it is boring again.....that's how i manage it...

Me too, me too (raising hands). I suffer from extreme boredom, all the time. I see my doctor tomorrow and I posted a thread on what to ask him to prescribe for that...

I got horribly bored while depressed because nothing seemed interesting or important. Usually I have too much to do to have time for being bored!
