Omg I'm miserable. I think latuda a giving me akathisia like risperdal did but much worse. I hot no sleep last. When us get settled the horrible restlessness would start and I'd go into panic attack mode! In so tired I'm almost crying. I can't fandke this! I'll take ablittlebtured but not this

Akinesia Is the worst. Time to switch medication or add something else on. I got it on abilify. I'm so sorry to hear you struggle. Keep your head up and call your doctor

Yeah latuda gave me the worst akathisia. I would have to take a slew of meds to get it to stop. So sorry you're struggling with it.

I was really hoping it wouldn't happen! It has to be the worst feeling ever. It's worse than when risperdal caused it! I'd doze off then jerk awake panicking and have to jerk my body around. All night. It's gone away now I think.

Yeah I would pace and pace and pace. I'd lay down but have to get up and pace. Then if I stood still I would feel like I was gonna fall through the floor. It would go on for hours. Chemical torture....
Thanks for this!

Chemical torture is a good way to put it stargazer. I hated it because it was working great until it started to happen. Oh well. Time to move down the list of medications. Let me know what your doctor says I'm interested in the results.

My old psych nurse just had me on too much. 160mgs. I'm now on zyprexa but gaining weight. The non weight gainers give me akathisia....Idk what I'm gonna do.

Halliebeth, maybe they can add on propononal and congentin to stop it from happening....
Thanks for this!

I know it's been so hard for me to find an ap that didn't either give me akathisia or cause weight gain. I chose weight gain, but now I'm thinking of trying abilify, but I'm almost positive I'll get akathisia on it...Ugh! Sounds like we're in the same boat...
Thanks for this!

I wish I could take abilify. He mentioned saphris last time I saw him as another option. I *just* got the latuda filled at the pharmacy-a whole months worth, unopened.

I always get weird side effects it seems. I cant take Geodon or Seroquel either. What I hate is....aside from weight gain issues, zyprexa works for me without other serious or annoying side effects. *sigh* It took away the paranoia and anger.

I hope they get back with me tomorrow. Im not supposed to see him for a month.

Yeah and zyprexa helps me sleep too. I see my pdoc tomorrow. Gonna wait and see what he thinks. I'm worried I may have to stay on the zyprexa. Idk, we'll see....

Sucks being in this position...

I guess we are in the same boat. :/

I guess if I have to I would rather stay on zyprexa and fight weight gain then battle akethisia again! I am NOT taking latuda anymore. It was so horrible I was crying and begging God to make it go away all night.

Well they called me just now (7pm!) and they'd talked to the Dr. He said not to take the Latuda anymore but stay on zyprexa until I see him next month.

That was fast. He's only in office two days a week-it's a clinic.

Happy you got some resolve. I gotakathisia from Abilify as well as was sleepy from it so it was like a double negative. Needless to say I wasn't on it very long. I am actually taking a benzo in the place of ap now. Which seems to work better IMO.

You might see if you can go that route I was written the script for agitation.

I hung in there for 5 weeks and Latuda got way better. A bowl of cereal was helpful at bedtime.

Hugs for Hallie!

Thanks. I hung in there with the nausea. That's not why I called. The restlessness was so bad last night I couldn't sleep and I cried all night. I cant do that anymore. I went through it with Risperdal and it was no where near this bad.

(hugs!!)

I had akathasia with latuda as well, even when I dropped from 40 to 20. I tried for a month on it, and tried congentin, it didn't work. It was the worst experience I have ever gone thru. The last day I took a ton of Xanax to knock myself out and called my pdoc and said I'm done with this poison. Latuda caused a lot of other problems for me, I was on med leave for 2 1/2 months and that was last summer and I'm still having issues.

I'm glad you were able to get ahold of your pdoc and get off of it. I've heard with latuda it's either pure hell or a god send.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that!

I took latuda a LONG time ago but super low dose and no side effects. It simply wasn't helpful for what I was going through during that time. Hope things look up for you.
