I don't know if anyone else has this problem but it's a HUGE problem for me. I doesn't matter how little or how much sleep I have, I wake up in rage. I hate everybody, and everthing. The next few hours is when the majority of fights happen as well as suicidal thoughts.
I am mean, and it's extremely difficult to control. I almost can't. I can't stand this. I dread going to sleep because I dread waking up. I am like this with or without meds. I don't know what to do. Is there any meds I can take when I wake up to help with this? I need something because I can't keep living like this. it's too bad to just ignore. |

That's really tough. When I am unwell I go into rages but tend to be worse at night. Without meds I am like that much more often. Although I am on meds I do have phases where I am in rages almost daily. I find anti-psychotics help best and Benzodiazapines like Valium are also helpful. Are you seeing a pdoc. Perhaps it would be a good idea to talk it through with them as you don't want to live like this. I know it is hell. Take care.

I woke up raging when I took Trazadone. I think my paxil helps me quite a bit with rage although I do have episodes, mostly late afternoon. What really sucks is that I don't realize I'm doing it until my daughter calls me out

My anxiety usually hits in the morning. That's when I take .5 mg of Xanax.

I understand this and know how hard it can be. I used to wake up regularly feeling the same exact way. It happens less often now luckily.
Are you currently on any meds? I don't want to suggest any per say because everyone reacts differently to medicine, however, I am on lamictal and that works pretty well for me. I have Bipolar 2. A good amount of us here are on that I think. Others take lithium (usually I see that if someone is Bipolar 1). Meds do make things easier, but they aren't fool proof. They take time to adjust to and may not always work as intended (side effects, chemistry, etc.). I think it is worth trying to find something because they can make life a lot easier. Just be prepared that T's and Pdoc's do not make it easy to do so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I forgot to mention that Lithium also helped reduce the rages. But that was because some of my rages were due to mixed states.

I take seroquel at night. That's all I take. It's not the meds causing it because I had this even when I was med free. It may help slightly in the morning but not enough to make a difference. Helps through out the day though.
I get really calm at night. Peaceful. I'm always counting down 9-10pm. Then I fight my sleep dreading to wake up. Does valium make you sleepy? I just need opinions on morning meds that give you energy and doesn't make you sleepy. I haven't made an appt yet but will. |

Valium can make you sleepy, yes. I used to wake up the same way, to the point that it interfered with my relationship. Luckily I have a very supportive spouse. Believe it or not, it came down to being a choose for me. I decided to locate and tackle the demons and to just try to be cordial in the morning despite my mood, even though I was filled with hatred. It slowly became easier to do. That's what worked for me, but everyone is different. I still have my tough mornings but they are fewer and in further in between now. I hope this helps you.

In my case, Valium did not make me sleepy. I have heard that it does happen to some people, though, but after awhile of your body getting used to it, that side effect should go away.
I take my Valium in the morning and it doesn't make me sleepy at all. It just tones down my anxiety. No matter what you decide, I hope it brings you some relief.

Thank you! I'lI ask about valium and see what he suggests. I know I need something because on a scale from 1-10 mornings push very close to a 10.
I fantasize of the day I wake up, sun is shining, and I feel great! Haha yeah right!! I'd be fine with just being able to get up and be a zombie for the next few hours. Zombie is better than a raging lunatic. ![]() |
