Anyone else have problems staying with just one or two?
I will get interested in something and it might last a week or two then its on to something else. I have tried about 8 different things already this year. All the money wasted has really got me down. I feel helpless to stop it. |

I switch pretty quick as well, and admittedly don't have many hobbies outside of school, work and video games
There is no better way to find your passion than trying out different things though.. you won't figure it out just day dreaming on the couch. So props to you. |

LOL.......i guessed you were bipolar before i went and looked..........so the suggestion i had come up with......to wait a week before investing in a new hobby to see if you are still interested........well that kinda goes out the window because i understand that impulsivity. i have spent whole nights lying awake planning things i am going to do, such fantastic things that i am going to run out and get the next day....thankfully when morning comes i say what was i thinking. are you able at all to put limits on yourself? most hobbies have intro kits, buying the bare minimum to see if you will like the hobby before investing in the whole kit and kaboodle. then if there is still an interest after a few weeks you can build up your stock?

I switch all the time. I get tired of one and search for something new. I have many unfinished projects that I've started only to go on to something new.
drawing, painting, crocheting, knitting, jewelry making, photography, sewing, quilting, cross stitch, and making flowers out of duck tape are a few of the things I've tried.

I've tried so many artistic endeavours. I currently have an online storefront that sells my music (mp3s), books, ebooks, watercolour art, digital art, and handcrafted tea. One of my friends compared it to an online hipster shop, which was hilarious.
And then I also pursue freelance writing, have written a play that was produced in a festival, used to crochet, and have several musicals in various stages of completion. I get hyper productive when I'm manic, but I'm still pretty prolific at baseline too.

I'm this way, we call it my obsessions. I once bought a kiln and had never even taken a pottery class before. I didn't even have a electrical socket for it as I lived in an apartment, lol.

Let's see.... There was a time I wanted to start drawing so I bought a tablet to use with my computer to draw..... Used it twice maybe?
Also on my list: Blogging, Yoga, photography, dance (actually went into this hardcore for awhole), collecting blown glass things, and my current is gardening. Already feeling "meh" about it after a few weeks. I blame my impulse buying for most of my hobbies actually. If I didn't buy so much crap I didn't need (well, realize I didn't need) I wouldn't be going on these hobby hopping fests.

And I have an expensive food processor that is collecting dust when I was going through my cooking phase. I'm really bad at this.

Hang in there!
Yeah the med merry go round isn't nice I agree. It's taken me a while to find ones that "work" - yeah I don't even truly believe any meds "work" for me - I kind of hang on the left side of crazy constantly - this is just me ![]() |
