Does anyone else take Geodon? If so have you gained weight. I was under the impression that it didn't make you gain but a doctor just pointed out it may.

I'm been dealing with weight issues because of my thyroid since 2006 and have been on Geodon for about 2 years. I'm training for my 1st half marathon so I run at least 3 times a week. I feel like whatever I do I can't get my weight down and wonder if it's the Geodon. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist at the beginning of May. I would like to change medications if there is a possibility the Geodon is responsible. I don't think she's going to want to change it, so I may just start taking a lower dosage.

I'm so frustrated with my weight.

i have been on geodon for over a year, could be two years i have lost count. i have not had any problems with weight gain. i even have lost weight in the time i have been on it. i would suspect it has more to do with your thyroid than the geodon.

I lost about 30 lbs.on Geodon. I gained 'em back when I went on Zyprexa but I need both of them to function. If you are middle aged, it's harder to keep the weight off even if you're not on antipsychotics. My guess is it's not the Geodon.

I'm on Geodon but my weight stays static. I don't gain and I don't lose. It's really disheartening because I want to lose and it's like the scale needle refuses to budge. But I don't know if it's specifically Geodon, because I'm on a hella bunch of other meds, too.
