I tried Latuda when it first came out and I wasn't impressed. But I was severely depressed and suicidal, I had just tried to go back to work after 3 months off and it didn't work, I was starting to realize I was done working, I had just been hospitalized with a bad lithium toxicity and the hospital staff messed up my other meds royally. So it wasn't the best time and I didn't give it much chance.

I need more anti-psychotic and I can't have more Seroquel XR b/c I'm already on 1200 mg. I can get Latuda through patient assistance so trying it isn't going to cost anything.

I emailed my dr telling her I'm in bad shape and liquid lithium is no better and possibly worse than tablets. (It's 4:45 and I'm wide awake and have been since 10 AM). We also had reduced my MAOI and that's not decreasing my agitation which is just growing.

I really hope she is in today and gets the email. That can be hit or miss and if she doesn't answer I have to call her secretary and ask her to pass on the message that I really need a response. I don't like doing that.

I'm sorry for posting so much. I'll try to stop. Mania-propelled freaking out....bad thing.

I too first tried Latuda while depressed and saw no change. I've just started it again to help with manic stuff. I hope your dr calls bk and get the ball rolling on pTient assistance! In using samples from my dr right now.

Good luck. I'm one of those for whom Latuda has been a game changer. I'm not sure it it helps straight mania. It's wonderful for mixed symptoms and for BP depression with a mood stabilizer though. Still everyone is different. I hope your doc listens to you, it sounds like something has to change soon.

If it's good for mixed that's excellent because that's my usual. I really am mixed right now technically but the mania is so much worse it's all I care about. Usually it's not quite like this which is probably part of why this episode is so frustrating; it's not my normal.

Thank you.
