So I've been diagnosed with bipolar and general anxiety. I take lithium 450mg 3 times a day, valium 10mg 3 times a day and olanzapine 20mg once a day.
All of this has helped decrease my panic attacks and lessen my anxiety. It has also helped my mood swings to where I'm not as 'high' as often. I'm used to hearing voices and seeing things as well, but that has also decreased. I wanted to ask if depression is normal for my circumstances? I'm not taking anything specifically for it. I've just been sooooooo depressed and sad lately. Should I call my doctor? Is there something else I can take? I'm losing hope here, bleh. |

I think that when you feel like that yes, it is time to call the dr. I've found it helpful (and my dr has told me to) say things like "I'm losing hope" if that is what I am feeling so that she knows that I really need help.
Those meds are definitely more for the manic side so you may need something to help with depression. Anti-depressants can be tricky for some people but with a mood stabilizer they can work. The right anti-depressant might also help with your anxiety. |

In my limited experience, being extremely depressed is not normal and it should and can be treated. Did you get some good help?
