Have any of you taken Seroquel and felt like you just can't wake up? I stay groggy all day long. Do any of you take anything to counteract this? I like the medication, just can't get past the drowsiness.

I am on the same dose as you. I only feel groggy for like 30 minutes then I am pretty pumped for the rest of the day . I do a lot of stuff during that time so maybe that's why I don't really feel that tired. Always on the go!
Thanks for this!

It should go away over time. It was a side effect I had at first that went away.

I take 200mg and mornings SUCK! I'm using a narcotic to counteract it at the moment. I don't recommend that though. Getting into the Pdoc Friday to get something that will help so I don't have to keep taking the Norcos.

They give me energy!!!!

I have to get something that will work just as good or better than these!!

Woohooo!!!! I'm Feeling pumped!!

Sorry!!!!

A lot better than the depressed feeling I've been having!!

Disappointed I can't paint my paint my house right now!

I really want to do something that will change the look of this place!!!

Hmm.....

Sorry I'm off topic! Seroquel makes me very groggy in the mornings. Worse than I usually am!

It's not easy. Especially in the middle of the day when they want to play and all I wanna do is lay around. I thought I was gonna get past the sleepiness of depression. Now this.

I had to stop taking it because of that effect. I could not sleep it off no matter how early I took it and I'm a teacher so I kind of have to be alert. Shame because it really helped with my severe depression. Are you taking XR or IR? I was taking XR. I don't know if switching the formula would have helped.

I used to take Provigil or Nuvigil. Sometimes it was covered by insurance and sometimes I had to pay a lot of money out of pocket which was not fun at all. But it made it so I could function at work.

I took it at 8 last night and couldn't get out of bed until almost 7 this morning and that was pushing it because I had to be at work early. And I completely understand the painting thing!! I do that sort of thing all the time! Darn impulses!!

I have been on 100mg morning, 100mg afternoon, and 200mg at night for over a year. I think I have subconsciously trained myself to ignore the drowsiness during the day, it doesn't bother me anymore. I am on a low dose antidepressant as well however, which I think gives me a little more energy during the day.
Thanks for this!

I'm hoping that I can get over the side effect! My dr is going to be increasing my dose, so hopefully it goes away!

I slept for 3 days straight so I quit it. It also though gave me a tension headache from the back of my neck over the top of my head that throbbed and started giving me a stiff neck.

Yuck.
Thanks for this!

At my old house my therapist actually had me memorize a rule: If I felt like painting and it was dark I was to step away from the paint and realize I was manic. And he did not arrive at this rule from just one instance .

Painting is such a good way to burn off energy....I miss it.

I just recently got put back on it. I'm on 50mg, upping to 100 tonight and 150 in a few days.

I've been on it before though. I've been on both the regular and the XR and I found the XR really helped me not be as tired. So maybe see if thats a possibility for you. Also I found keeping busy helped. If I sat or lay down for too long the tiredness overtook me.
