I am currently worried to death about a very close friend of mine that I met here on PC in my first week and we just clicked, we have a beautiful fun loving friendship.

Her and I have met many times as she actually lives in the area that I use to live in Florida, We usually see each other twice a year. We both were so thrilled and looking forward to a visit. She has no family and is older and has many severe health problems.

Well I got a PM from her on my way down ,after that no contact, nothing. I went by her condo many times a day for over 8 days, called and called sent texts and PM's .

One of her close friends from PC was able to contact the police and have them do a welfare check .....Apparently she was sent to the hospital by ambulance. We are at a lose, Due to HIPPA laws we can't find out really anything. She never mention last names of the only real couple that were friends, but they had a falling out..

But regardless I am unable to track her friends down or her attorney as again she never mentioned his full name... This is a HUGE city.

So please if you become close to anyone on PC whether seeing them just on here or in person /phone calls etc .. Please consider setting up something that would allow someone from your family or a friend that you can trust to let them know if something has happened, because let me tell you sitting here not knowing and just in a state on constant worry is heartbreaking. Her other 2 close friends are just a mess over this also.

This is heartbreaking

Having recently experienced loved one MIA, you are so right! Not knowing is incredibly stressful!! I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Be assured you are in my thoughts, Christina. Hoping you are able to find out more soon, and that it all turns out ok.

And good advice, yes.

I kind of understand how you feel. I have a friend I have not seen nor heard from since July. He was very depressed when he disappeared. I just recently learned he is ok. I hope your friend is ok too.

I really hope she is ok. She must be going through a hard time. And she should have her friends by her. This is really sad to hear. Really hope she is ok. I have never experienced a situation like what you are going through, and I can only imagine what it must be like. When she turns up, try to make some sort of system with her to make sure this doesn`t happen another time. Most of the time these situations end well

You must be heartbroken, not knowing about your friend. Heck, I have a close friend in real life that I just know will vanish one day because he hasn't made any arrangements for his family to contact his friends. Your message is clear: we are a mobile society and we really must consider our online friends as well as our fleshly friends when we fall ill. We must plan ahead so people don't worry as you are worried now.
Thanks for this!

This whole business is terrible from one end to another. Feel really bad for both you and her!
I am going to post a tread about how important it is to be proactive and make sure that there are people who will know how and who to contact in case of emergencies like this. It is so easy to neglect to do such a thing. And it can have such devastating consequences. Like I wrote earlier, just remember these situations do tend to end well.
Thanks for this!
