My doctor is switching me from Saphris to Latuda. Mainly because my hand tremors were getting bad. I've also been suffering from high anxiety. So I wondering how Latuda is going to affect me. Tremors.? Anxiety? Weight gain? Any incite would be appreciated.

I think it was helping me but week three at 60 mg I got horrible akathesia!

Be optimistic! I've heard great things about it!!

I have been on it for a few months now at 60 mg. I feel more balanced. Sometimes I do get anxious but have klonopin for that. And it is maybe once or twice a week. Weight gain I'm not sure. I gained a bunch of weight prior to starting it so it is not a good assessment but I have lost about 5 lbs in past week.

It caused me to switch into mania. I had to go off of it. Abilify did the same thing to me. Now I am back to feeling depressed. I don't know what we will try next.

Well, I'm hoping it doesn't make me manic but I hope it helps with the tremors. Thanks for all the input.

I love my Latuda. After striking out with Lamotrigene, Abilify, Seroquel, and a few others I finally have managed a bit of stability with Latuda. My depressions and manias don't last as long and aren't as intense, but they do seem to cycle faster than before. The only side effects I have noticed is it makes me sleepy so I take it at night, and I think it makes me feel more cold or sensitive to cold. Hope it goes well for you too.

It's been good for me. I feel very balanced now. Latuda did give me some hypomanic symptoms and horrible irritability at the beginning. They went away completely after about a month. I'm glad that I stuck with it. It's one of the best meds I've been on.

Latuda quite frankly saved my life last year when I was in the worst depressive episode I have ever had. I had no side effects whatsoever when I took it. It's worth a try. Also, Saphris was not a good medication for me either. Bleh.

Hope it works out for you.

I had the worst experience I've ever gone thru. I was on it I think for a month, maybe a little longer. I think what I went thru was akathasia from what I have heard people describe. I made it up to 40 mg my pdoc put me on congentin and that didn't work even at 20 mg. he said for some reason my body didn't metabolize it right. I was on med leave for 2 1/2 months because I was so messed up. My OCD went completely out of control and I'm still having those problems and this happened last July. I've heard either it's pure hell or a god send. Good luck to you, I hope it works out. Trying new meds is always scary because of the unknown.

Yes, trying new ones is always a little scary to me. So far so good. I really want this one to work. The Saphris worked really well for my moods but the hand tremors have gotten too bad. At least we think that the Saphris is the problem and not the Fetzima.

It was the hardest med to get on, but I'm glad I stuck with it! Let us know how it works!

It seems my mood is slipping since I switched to Latuda, however, it could be situational. I just don't know. But I'm feeling really down unlike when I was on Saphris. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Being depressed sucks.

Latuda was largely good for me. When starting it or when increasing doses, I did experience akathesia and elevated mood. Otherwise I felt pretty normal on it. I had to stop eventually though because it made me lactate!
