My lips and parts of my face twitch and feel like the sensations I used to get before a seizure. I quit my Latuda because it was keeping me from losing weight, but I quit two weeks ago. Is this related? It seems too long of a time for this to start.
I live alone and am slightly worried about what would happen if I had a seizure. But I'm also afraid this is nothing. I don't want to call my PCP and be told I'm imagining things.

(((sidestepper))) I worry about the symptoms that you describe because off the top of my head I think that it could be related to a few possibilities, and I don't want to be giving you medical advice this side of the computer
 How likely is it you can make an appointment with your pdoc? Or at least a gp? So you can kind of get some kind of confirmation - or even, lack thereof. It could be something harmless, we don't know. For the very present moment. Can you ring a friend. Get them to come to your place now. And make the necessary calls to go see a doc or someone when they're on their way. If you think it is very nearly seizure time - skip everything I suggested above - I'd ring an ambulance, now. |

Don't have any friends to call
Afraid of not being taken seriously by docs, took an extra propranolol and that seemed to help some

It is definitely a concern if you have had seizures before and that is one of the warning signs. Is there a health line you can call to talk to a nurse to get advice? (We have them here in Australia) Any decent doctor would totally understand your concerns and take you seriously. Can you go to a GP tomorrow?

My lip twitches sometimes and I think its from the abilify... no other wierd things happen though

Thanks to those who replied.
I think it might have been from lack of sleep I don't know but it stopped. I didn't get much sleep but I got some. Then I took a couple hours long bath this morning. Relaxing today, limiting online and television flickers today and just reading. I'll monitor it and see if it returns. It was bothersome enough that I'll mention it to the caseworker on Wednesday and see what see thinks. I haven't had a seizure for years and don't take seizure meds anymore, my seizures were the result of a failed Sui attempt and went away after a number of years. I really hate that feeling of electricity though the skin of my face.
