Do you have health issues (physical) in conjunction with Bipolar Disorder? If so how do you keep the stress of it from affecting your MI?

My Fibro pain, chronic Insomnia and Bipolar is basically a "perfect storm" If one wobbles to much it sends everything into chaos.

Yeah it is. I found myself getting really depressed lately, being in and out of doctors offices, dialysis, blood transfusion, recent hospitalization back in june. There are times that it just seems to get so overwhelming I'm really not sure if its my health causing it or the illness.

I have Variant Angina, a blood clot in my left leg along with bipolar, anxiety and depression.

Most days I just manage the best I can, then there are days like today where I feel like I'm falling apart.

If you are doing dialysis, you are one strong person. I work in dialysis and the stress does a number with my bipolar. I can't imagine being the pt. my prayers are with you.

I also have asthma, and environmental allergies (rhinitis) when I get stressed it tends to be worse, especially if I am anxious. It can be hard to breathe.

Fibromyalgia, ibs, migraines, arthritis,....... Bipolar plays off each of these ailments in one way or another. The pain and sickness, mixed with bipolar depression makes choosing to live, very difficult on many days.

I have a knee disorder that I've had my whole life (possibly Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, but I've never been tested) which makes it hard for me to do a lot, and now I have gynecologic problems. I can definitely say that the health issues effect my bipolar. I try not to think about that stuff unless I have to, and when I do I try to stay detached so it doesn't trigger a depressive episode. It's hard sometimes though...

I have type 2 diabetes that resulted in a foot amputation several years back. Last year, I had a nearly fatal auto accident that leaves me in pain. From the wreck I had numerous fractures in my neck, back, ribs, hand. There is also a very large scar on the leg opposite the amputation. My right lung collapsed. I think the worst injury is the lingering effects from the concussion I suffered. I was in a coma for over 2 weeks in the trauma center, and now I get dizzy very easily.

Somehow, I don't think my bipolar and other MI got any worse. They were already so bad. If anything, it emphasized the importance of taking things one day at a time. I think all of these things are one reason I seem content to stay home except for various Dr. visits.
