Well if you want a definitive word about what that means to you, the best place to get that info is from your psychiatrist.

If you want to research on your own, Psych Central has a self help database of articles and posts that might be of interest.

I was just rediagnosed as that too (like yesterday). Did your pdoc explain it to you and give you a print out of what it is? Mine did.

There are three basic BP types - bipolar I, II and an undefined BP called "NOS" or sometimes called BP III. Having schizoaffective symptoms means there's some delusion or hallucination involved. It's a fine-line diagnosis. I have some hallucinations like seeing shadows or things darting by the corner of my eyes and sometimes I hear people call my name when no one does but I only have a BP diagnosis.

Talk to your p-doc and ask him to explain his thinking. Keep in mind that other p-docs could see things differently.

It's when you have paranoia, delusions or other psychotic symptoms when you're not in a mood episode.

It's been driving me crazy forever trying to figure out why I've been having all of these paranoia attacks and delusional thinking and mild hallicinations when I'm not in an episode. I guess now I know why.

It's having schizophrenia symptoms and psychosis during a mood phase I think...
