Lately I've been having dreams about being manic, even though I've been very stable for the past six months and have no reason to think I'm about to go off my rocker. Does anyone else experience this, and could it mean that a manic episode is in the offing?

I have had these and I think it is because I worry about becoming unstable.
Thanks for this!

That makes sense. I'm in good shape but I do worry about when the other shoe is going to drop. I'd like to stop that and just enjoy the stable times.

I hope that you are able to enjoy every moment of being stable. Wouldn't you say it is bittersweet?
Thanks for this!

Yes, I dream about it too. I also have PTSD type dreams about my past manic episodes. I'm always very out of control, but also being antagonized by 'People out to get me" Causes me lots of anxiety.

I'm sorry you are having this too.

Yeah. It is always like we are on the lookout.

I have not dreamt I was manic. How interesting

I've never dreamt about mania but I've dreamt about being powerful, flying and taking over the world. I've dreamt of being in the hospital and being taken down by huge orderlies, being given shots and trying to find a way out.

I've noticed that when I dream about the hospital I am close to teetering on the edge.

I think it could be either a warning or just a worry of yours the unconsciousness is pretty powerful but it's tricky to figure out just what the message is.

I dream about mood states too. For me its not an indication of a changing mood luckily.

I had a dream last night that everyone blocked me on this site. Haha.

Yes, I've dreamt it plenty of times. It is usually nothing except evoked anxiety. If it is extremely vivid, chromatic, and luminous, it could be an impending episode. I don't understand the logic; it just is.

Supressed memories perhaps of when you were manic? And the more you dream it the more it sort of lingers in the back of your mind making you anxious. I haven't personally dreamt of being manic when I was stable (that I recall .... ) but certainly dreams about things that would be anxious if they were to reoccur are somewhat of a common theme for me.

Hope these dreams stop disturbing you

It's been much cheaper for me to have manic dreams instead of real episodes.

I just had one last night and in my dream I was close to being put in IP. I'm right now in a manic phase, but it is almost completely controlled by meds. I tend to dream about manic phases when I am or supposed to manic.
