Ok, so this movie came out a week ago, and I'm wondering if anyone has seen it yet. If so, what did you think of the BP portrayal? (And the film in general too, I suppose, lol.)

I just learned of it today, happening upon an interview with one of the daughters portrayed. (The other daughter, Maya Forbes, made the film.) It's a look back to them as kids growing up with their -- you guessed it -- bipolar dad. From the trailer and what I've read, it seems we're spared the usual stereotype at least. I didn't want to read too many reviews because non-BP reviewers' assessments of BP portrayal isn't going to hold much weight with me.

So whaddya think?

I hadn't heard about. Thanks. I'm kind of hesitating about seeing this. Most movies about MI are either tragic or too sweet.

I hadn't heard of this, interested in checking it out though. Is it out on disc or is it in the theater still?

I saw the preview when i went to see ... hmm what did we see? Mr holmes? No before that. Naybe...the wolfpack. Yeah. I thought it seemed like an updated, less "oh ha ha", more authentic Mr Mom..

Theatres. It just opened on July 19th. It's an indie film, so I don't know what that means in terms of going to video, but hopefully it won't be too long of a lag, because this is a brutal bills month, so I'm having a hard time justifying the expense of going to a theatre(!)

Haha, Christina! I hadn't read that, but have same response in your telling of it!

I'm really wanting to see this movie bad.. All the trailers kind of portray me as a dad... I'm not a real big enforcer.. More of a playmate.. I'm a goofball and could care less... I know I'm not always a peach either
