My year and a half of med combo I think has worn off. Also, something happened a couple of months ago that's was kind of life changing. The reality is settling in, and I feel a nose dive coming.

I see my dr. in a week for refills. My new t told me to call her and she would meet me at my dr. visit to help me discuss some things with the dr. Has anyone ever relied on their t to do this, and does anyone think if that's a good idea?

I've never done this but if you are having trouble discussing the issue it sounds like a good idea. It was nice of your t to offer.

Your T sounds dedicated and protective. I would say go for it, if you feel comfortable with the idea.

Dealing with this disorder if difficult, and if you could do it without any outside help...you would be doing it. But the more eyes you can get on your treatment the better. I think its awesome your therapist is jumping in with both feet to help you find a solution!

After 30yrs of various treatment I've had therapists that communicate with my psychs...but I've NEVER had one get off their *** and come to a session with me! Its beneficial in that there's no he said/she said and topics that are forgotten in the translation between the two. I'm excited for you!

The only time a T went went with me physically was 30 years ago but it helped tremendously. Other times a T has arranged to call the Pdoc before or during a meeting to help articulate and tell the Pdoc about observed behaviors. I like it when the T and Pdoc have open communication. even though anger and irrational thinking are part of BP I have a hard time admitting to those. It's easy to avoid talking about things and presenting myself in a high functioning way since most Pdoc appointments are short.
Take her up on her offer.

I've never personally done this lunatic but in theory it seems like it could be a good idea.

I used to see a t that was in the same office as my pdoc, actually they were across the hall from each other, ... she was a sucky t but I always had my pdoc's ear thru her and I did for a while see her weekly ... so yes it can help ...

My therapist came into my pdoc appointments several times and it really helped my pdoc be less of a jack*** who doesn't take me seriously.

Update. Although it was a nice gesture of my therapist, she now has excuses why she cannot me. So, I'll do the usual 5 minutes of dr. questioning me and the end. Same crap with no chance to discuss anything, unless this visit is different from the past 18 months.
