I could be 100% off the mark here but i just want some opinions from experienced people i have major depression and BPD as well as some other things but my psychologist said something which got me thinking anyway does this sound like mania?

- i will start singing randomly and cant stop or i cant stop talking
- my thoguhts race really fast
- i have heaps or random ideas
- feel like i can do more thing than usual
- have lots of epiphanies
- dont sleep but i am not physically tired
- i feel very revved up and cant sit still
- do more things than usual
- feel like i can do anything and it wouldnt matter

These things sometimes happen by themselves and i dont normally feel happy just full of a strange kind of energy and can last from a few hours to a couple of days at most i think like 2 weeks though and sometimes i feel like this and also VERY depressed and the SAME time which is very confusing for me.

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

Yes this is mania, I think. When. You feel depressed and have mania could be a form of a mixed episode.

Ok I will try and see if i can mention it to my psychologist next time i see him i didnt know you could have both at the same time and it still apply. I also sometimes feel like i have magical powers or something or i feel kind of improtant like i have something i need to do but this only happens when i feel speeded up.

Yes, psychosis is sometimes part of mania for people also, which would also explain some of the other symptoms you have reported.

It could be a mixed state. where you are manic, yes. but depressed as well. I've been there many times. mania does not just mean happy.

I just feel like it isnt a huge problem though as most of the time i can keep things to myself and i figure if i am the only one suffering it doesnt matter too much.

I just it is like when it happens I feel bad but just really agitated and I can't make it stop and I can't stop fidgeting and I feel like I will explode from the weird energy that won't leave my body I don't know maybe it isn't I just have never been able to explain that feeling.

So, when your testing came back, is your pdoc thinking what may be causing your symptoms to be bipolar disorder?

Well he said I had certain symptoms that would be more consistent with bipolar or schizophrenia but that for now he wasn't sure and he would keep looking over the results the only thing is the test was very hard to answer and I answered it in reference to how I had been feeling in the week or 2 before I did the test so when it came to the questions on how much energy I had I said I didn't really have any because at the time I didn't but I was aware that sometimes it is different but there wasn't an option for that also I haven't told my psychologist about these feeling because I don't really know how to explain them very well.
