My psychologist and psychiatrist are in the same building so all knowledge about me is shared.
My therapist only ever talks about my anxiety and panic issues. She never brings it up. I've brought it up a few times but we never stay on that topic. I was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me? |

We talk about it often only if I bring it up.

With the last therapist I had, all she ever talked about was bipolar! It was so annoying. Only saw her three times because she made me feel like a label and attributed every emotion I had as bipolar.

My counsler hasnt said a word about it either. Ive only talked to her two times so far but she wants to focus on my irritability and depression. I dont know if she is working her way up to it, or if they are being taught to not focus on the diagnosis so much and more on the symptoms so that the patient doesnt feel stigmatized or labeled as the previous poster has stated. But for me, Id prefer to discuss it so I can feel validated. Right now, I feel like she is skeptical, or doesnt feel that what I have presented to her directly is sufficient to discuss the diagnosis (doc diagnosed me). But I jump to conclusions and think negatively about everyone lol

My last one didn't which is why I think I need another. Although to be fair I started seeing him for bereavement issues. But after that was resolved, it was more like venting. I think I benefit from CBT better than psychodynamic psychotherapy. Finding a good one is hard..

Perhaps they just want to focus on primary symptoms and not labels?
