I'm depressed, lonely, on-edge. I feel like it's just a matter of time before something bad happens. There's no one to talk to, and that makes it so much worse. No one cares, and I can't blame them.

Hi there. Sorry you are in a highly stressful situation. There are ways to cope with these kinds of stress, like self care and participation at Psych Central. Of course I would highly recommend a therapist and or psychiatrist to keep you stable, but if that is not possible, I would like to recommend a resource here at Psych Central that you can send in a question, and get a reply from the therapist as their time allows. Here is the link for that. Ask the Therapist

Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems though still there are more manageable.

There are lots of compassionate people here that can make the load lighter by sharing and caring. Feel free to participate actively at Psych Central. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Please feel free to private message me or any of the Community Liaisons by left clicking on the name in blue to the left of their post) for questions or just to share.

self caring can include:
Diet can have an affect on how we feel. I have to watch what I eat because foods I eat can stabilize my moods or exaggerate them. A high protein low carb diet with snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my swings. I also avoid alcohol and recreational drugs because those can really increase depression.

Here is what I use when my head gets over crammed with thoughts. Breathe in a natural way. Silently count one on the inhale and 2 on the exhale. 3 on the inhale and 4 on the exhale. Continue up to 10 then go back to 1. This helps me focus on breathing rather than the wall of thoughts.

Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central.

I care too and I know what it's like to be lonely and feel like no one cares. I'm glad you're posting here and I hope you will continue to do so, because you'll find some great support here.

You are not alone, you will always have this group. People here are very understanding and caring. They have helped me through some rough times. Pour your heart out, get out what is eating away at you, just post. Sending you healing vibes. Be gentle with yourself and know that you matter here.
