Have you crashed into any bands, songs etc. anyhow related to BP? I know many composers & artists have BP but did they compose anything about it?
I want introduce my favourite band, for which i have been fan far before i had even idea of my diagnosis. Their lyrics feels really speaking to me, though i have no idea if those are related to BP on purpose. The band is Polish progressive rock band Riverside. (don't be scared of word progressive, they have mostly soft with some awesome heavy metal riffs mixed to some songs) My song recommendations totally worth listening: (all availble in spotify, probably youtube as well). This is how i feels the lyrics: About depression: The curtain falls About mixed state: Out of myself About medication (incredibly artistic composition. You dont have to like it, just listen) Rainbow box About mania Driven to destrucion |

I think a lot of Motion City Soundtrack's songs have a lot of underlining depression, anxiety, and bipolar themes in them. I'm actually kinda stuck in a mixed state right now and they are very soothing to blast loud and listen to. I'll give you some examples...
Delirium: "There's a voice, there's a voice, there's a voice in my head It's rather soothing and it tells me I'd be better off dead But if I beat maybe punch it even kick it away Then everything will be all rightly I swim in pharmaceuticals I swim in pharmaceuticals The medicine deactivates the things I take I swim in pharmaceuticals I swim in pharmaceuticals The medicine deactivates the things that take me" I especially like the next part. To me I like to think it's about going off of your meds and into an episode and realizing how badly you actually do need them... "I didn't know it was hot in the middle I touched it once then I touched it a second time 'Cause I am that naive A myriad of bright ideas I didn't know I'd get caught in the middle I touched it once and I touched it a second time 'Cause I am that naive A myriad of bright ideas" A lifeless ordinary: I could pull the lyrics from many parts of this song... "Are we copasetic? Are we behaving now?" "I always knew I had the answer But I never understood the question" "And now we've realigned the edges I'm doing very well I thank you All this empathy is starting to wear me down" "I'll try to work this out I'll try to get it on I'll try I like to tell you that I'm ready For whatever's coming But to be honest there's a part of me That loses control I think I can figure it out, But I'm gonna need a little help to get me Need a little help to get me." Dissapear: Just the tempo of this one, how racey and fast it is, gets me everytime I'm in one of those moods... "Need medication, more medication Coursing through your interstates All mad and great, confused and counterfeit Kamikaze, sear the blood inside me Guess who's got it figured out I'll let you in on something secret I can disappear Anytime I want to, time I feel you Shovel through my skin I am with you til the end" Even though I think this one is more about alcohol, I really like the last part, plus the tempo, it feels like mania coming on... |

Interesting I'll have to try this out. I have many songs that are hip hop and meant to party to. I have a few on my YouTube by Image Dragon, Creed and Marvin Gaye that I rarely listen to. I need to give some of these a try and add them to my phone playlist.

Kansas - Icarus Borne On The Wings Of Steel
"Icarus - Borne On Wings Of Steel" Early in the morning sunlight Soaring on the wings of dawn Here I'll live and die with my wings in the sky And I won't come down no more Higher than a bird I'm flying Crimson skies of ice and fire Borne on wings of steel I have so much to feel And I won't come down no more Sail on, sail on, I will rise each day to meet the dawn So high, so high I've climbed the mountains of the sky Without my wings you know I'd surely die I found my freedom flyin' high I've climbed the mountains of the sky Floating on a cloud of amber Searching for the rainbow's end Earth so far below me, I'm here alone, free I can't come down no more
