Hi all ! woulnt you be over the moon if you found a way out of your depression ?.

THIS IS NOT AN ADVERT AND I AM NOT A SALES PERSON. and I am not HYPOMANIC !

I AM AWARE that we all react differently to supplements and meds.
but since taking SAM-e I feel like a new man.

Sam-e is not recommended for those with Bipolar disorder.

I believe that this is because of its potential to induce mania.

Being Bipolar 2 + ADD and on Olanzapine I think my tolerance is probably better
than if I was bipolar 1.

On 22/8/15 Due to frustration with my doctor not referring me to a P/doc.
and being reluctant to put me on a med combo (fear of inducing mania)
I understand but have never had full blown mania only mild psychosis just before I was diagnosed bipolar 2 (24/12/04) what a great Christmas present !.

Anyway where was I ?.

Oh yes on the 22/8/2015 I started taking SAM-e 400mg which immediately
induced hypomania which I always enjoy (only once last year for five weeks in May probably due to the bright spring sunlight. I am very light sensitive.)
I took 400mg for three days and then reduced my daily dose and I slowly came down with the aid of DARK Therapy. After seven days of taking SAM-e
I stopped after some stomach aches. I have now been off SAM-e for over a week and I am relaxed and well. Its as if my bipolar and all its symptoms have been reset to zero. Yes I am euphoric but not hypomanic.

No more depression, hyposomnia. lack of motivation, no energy, aches and pains and chronic fatigue symptoms.

What has happened to me ? How can this be ?

I am waiting for the crash to come because I know Bipolar so well.

I feel so alive and well and am enjoying life for the first time since taking Olanzapine which puts you in a state of moderate depression.

If you are bipolar 2 I would urge you to try this supplement with vitamin B12
and folic acid 800mg. This should stop some side effects. Ensure you get SAM-e without Mannitol as it causes stomach pains.

Do your own research on SAM-e.

A WORD of WARNING !

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE VERY CAREFULL IF YOU ARE BIPOLAR 1 AND AM CONSIDERING TRYING THIS SUPPLEMENT.
IF YOU DO , START ON A VERY LOW DOSAGE (100MG A DAY ) AND IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE GOING MANIC STOP IMMEDIATELY.

I am living proof that this stuff works.

God bless you all.

I think it's great that this is working for you.

I can understand the concerns around people using this who are diagnosed with bipolar as it was originally used as an antidepressant - I think this would be something that I, personally, would be running past my pdoc - regardless of whether I was BP1 or BP2 ....
Thanks for this!

Just a thought.
It occurs to me that there is a lot of things that a lot of Psychiatrists and doctors don't understand. They try really hard to help us all.
To me SAM-e has totally changed my life, in fact I now have a life !.
A lot of people for over ten years have been singing the praises of
SAM-e for depression in fact a lot of doctors and psychiatrists have been prescribing this supplements for years.

This has been a total re-education for me.

best wishes and good luck

One of your first lines was

Then you go on to tell us the benefits of Sam-e for bipolar

So which is it?
