So I just had my emergency appointment with my pdoc. Instead of changing any meds he upped my lithium. It's now 450mg 4 times daily. He also said I need a blood test.

Are any of you on that much lithium? It seems like a lot to me.

Also on the sheet with my diagnosis he only checked the panic disorder box. Did my bipolar just go away?

That sounds like a lot to me but maybe not to others. I had to take blood tests every week for a couple of months because your kidneys can fail and cause Thyroid problems. I had to stop taking it because it wrecked my body. I hope it works for you. I was on 1000mg.

I can't speak on the lithium part, but when I went to the pdoc last week, one of my primary concerns was anxiety related. So that was listed on the sheet for the reason of the visit. Sometimes they may put the primary concern at the time of the visit without the original diagnosis. So I'm sure the bipolar diagnosis remains, otherwise he wouldn't have increased the lithium.

I know I had to have regular blood work when I was on lithium, I don't remember my dosage, but WOW, that seems like a lot. So does 1000mg, maybe it's the numbers so daunting.

I was on 1800mg for awhile but got Lithium Toxicity and ended up in the ICU for a week on dialysis
