I told him I think my moods are leveling out finally after dropping the lamictal down. He said to start taking a saffron supplement for depression and was like "you might even lose some weight." Apparently that's what people take it for, but there's been more scientific research in the lowering the depression part. He also switched me to Equetro. Maybe that'll even me out. It's the extended release carbamazapine. I take the regular one right now. My trusty tegretol. lol. I told him I've been smoking some pot again and he didn't really say anything about that. I don't think he really cares. I told him I've been working with a new therapist and things have been going good with that.
So now I get to wait another 6 weeks to see him. Hopefully they go well. |

I personally wish they'd do more research on pot and bipolar because of my experiences with it. I know pot actually really calms my irritation the day after I take it. But, I am really sensitive to it and I get way too loopy to the point it scares me. I didn't have that reaction when I was a teen (18 years ago haha.) I do remember as a teen it slowed my thoughts. The first time I ever smoked I clearly remember looking at my friend and saying "I'm thinking one thing at a time." That was a new experience.
I know they have the pot with the stuff that makes you feel loopy taken out. I often wonder if it would be beneficial for me but I don't think you can get a medical card for bipolar.
